Knitting 101
Monday, March 1, 8 & 15 6:30-8:30 p.m.
In this beginner knitting class, you’ll learn all about yarn and gauge. You’ll learn to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. You’ll also learn basic finishing techniques. Beginners will learn the Continental method of knitting.

Continental knitting

is much faster, more ergonomic and provides for more consistent, even tension. Continental knitting can also be done more efficiently when you are knitting in small spaces such as on the train.
$60 per student plus materials.
 
Animal Crackers
Wednesday, February 10, 17 & March 10   6:30-8:30 p.m.
Isn't this the most adorable baby sweater ever? If you have a special baby to knit for and you've never made a sweater before, this a wonderful sweater introduction class. You'll learn all about sweater construction (so your next project can be for you), you'll learn how to knit Intarsia, and you'll learn all of the finishing techniques that will make your special sweater perfect.
$60 per student plus materials. Book purchase required.
 
Currents Wrap - Second Class Added!

Tuesday, February 23 & March 9   6:30-8:30 p.m.
In this beginner class, you'll learn how to make this beautiful chunky wrap. You'll learn how to create the pattern stitches, how to block, how to do finishing stitches, as well as how to make buttonloops. Stop by and see the model - it's really lovely.
$40 per student plus materials.
 
Fresco Lace Cowl
Tuesday, February 9   6:30-8:30 p.m.
In this beginner lace class, you'll learn how to read a pattern and chart, how to knit in the round, how to block and all of the stitches that make up the lace pattern.

Friday, February 12, 19 & 26   6:30-8:30 p.m.
Check these Elf Shoes out! Aren't they adorable? In this intermediate beginner felting class, you'll learn how to do short row shaping, how to construct the clever toe and all about felting. Sizes range from infant to adult. Pattern by Pamela Wynne of flintknits.com. Stop by to see the models.

Fair Isle Leg Warmers
Thursday, February 18 & 25   6:30-8:30 p.m.
Want a fun, unintimidating way to learn colorwork? In this intermediate class, you'll learn how to do two types of colorwork - stripes and Fair Isle. You'll learn how to read a Fair Isle chart, how to do a jogless stripe, all while knitting these fun leg warmers.
$40 per student plus materials.
 
Beginning Crochet
Saturday, March 6, 13 & 20   10:00 a.m. - noon
You'll learn all of the basic crochet stitches in this beginner class. By the end, you should be able to crochet just about anything!
$60 per student plus materials.
 
Tunisian Crochet
Saturday, March 20 & 17   Noon - 2:00 p.m.
Tunisian crochet is a cross between knitting and crochet. The distinctive fabric created by this technique looks almost woven instead of either knitted or crocheted. In this beginner class, you'll learn all of the basics of Tunisian Crochet and no knitting or crochet experience is necessary.
$40 per student plus materials.
 

 

Continental Knitting for English Knitters
Wednesday, February 24   6:30-8:30 p.m.
In this workshop, I'll teach you how to knit Continental carrying the yarn in your left hand. Being able to knit Continental is essential for 2 handed colorwork which we can also practice. I'll show you three different ways to purl - one of them is sure to be comfortable! Bring 2 colors of worsted weight yarn and the appropriate needles.
$25 per student. No supply purchase necessary.
 
Design Your Own Workshop!
Do you and at least two friends want to be guided through specific techniques? Then Design Your Own Workshop is for you! Call to schedule. A minimum of 3 students and two weeks notice is required.
Price based on length of class.
 

Shop Policy: Pre-registration is required. Class materials (yarn, tools) must be purchased at Nana’s. You will receive a 10% discount off all materials for the class. Full payment is due at the time of registration. A minimum of 3 students are required to hold a class. If 3 students have not registered 4 days prior to the start of the class, the class will be cancelled. You will be notified and given the opportunity to register for the next scheduled class or your registration fee will be refunded. No refunds will be given for missed classes. Please register early. You can register by phone with your credit card. Please arrive a half hour prior to the first scheduled class to purchase your materials.
